20 Days Till Heaven…Day 15 -Sunday Fun-day, OK To Let Go, and Mint Chocolate Chip

Memories from October 30th, 2016 – Day 15

This day was a Sunday, and it looks as if we had the entire day together as a family in the house. It looks like we were fortunate to document a lot of things this day. We had a few calls, some nice pictures and also some videos of everyone hanging out.

Kate was able to come downstairs this morning so that we could all have breakfast together, well at least in the same room. I’m not sure why Regan was having Pringles, chances are she finished her cinnamon bun and was moving on to snack already. Here is a small video of that moment.

After breakfast we all sat in the living room and watched the new Ghostbusters movie.

Around lunch time I received this message from Kate. I guess I was trying to push her to eat something other than crackers.

A little bit later she sent me this.

This is the only picture I could find on Facebook for the day, so I am assuming that is what she was talking about. Kate’s Dad had got the kids some big whoopie pies at some point.

In one of our calls this day, she mentioned something that we had talked about in the bathroom earlier. Hearing the call sparked instant memories of the conversation. I probably wouldn’t have remembered it if it wasn’t for listening to this call today. It was the 1st time that she had wanted to let me know that I should think about letting go. She wanted me to know that I didn’t have to try to hold on so strong anymore. She wanted me to know that she was really ready and that I should also be ready to say goodbye when the time comes. She did most of the talking and I did the listening.

A little time goes by, and I am assuming it was nap time for everyone. After we were all awake Kate sent me a message that she wanted some new slippers to wear around the house. We jumped on Amazon and got her a new pair.

These slippers came the next day, and she wore them right away. After Kate had passed away, I thought it would be cool to give them to one of the boys one day because they were basically brand new and she only wore them a couple of times.

Rock had other plans. I was a little upset, but what can you do?

I found this video that Kate recorded with Regan on this day. I had to cut out some of her coughing, but other than that, the video is whole. They were just having a moment, and talking about how things have been going. She wanted to let Regan know that she loved her.

I sent her some nice messages later in the evening just to remind her that I need my morning calls and smiles for a little while longer. I told her I knew that one day I wont have a choice, but she is here now.

She posted this message on Facebook to everyone.

Once the evening came she would request her favorite frozen snack for bed. Mint chocolate chip ice cream.

One last cute video to share of this day before it was over. I have said before that Kate and Pierce’s favorite thing to do was to play the iPad in bed before bedtime. Here is a nice video of this day showing just that.

Today’s post seems like more of a show and tell than a regular post, but there was just a lot of material that we had this day that I wanted to share.
