20 Days Till Heaven…Day 12 – Hosanna, Losing You, and Happy Under Construction
Memories from October 27th, 2016 – Day 12
We start this day off a little different. We don’t have our normal good morning call. I believe it’s because she was getting some rest and the Pastor was coming to the house to visit with her.
I do get a charming message instead.
We have only two calls recorded for this day, one of them was me calling, but I didn’t get an answer. The other one didn’t record well at all. You could hear me, but her voice was very low. I had to put in earbuds and sit in a quiet room to even make out a little bit of it.
She told me that the pastor had just left. I asked her how the visit went, and it sounded like she enjoyed the visit. She told me that they talked, read some Bible verses and prayed. One part of the call did grab my attention, and I listened to it over and over. I think I have it figured out.
I believe she said that she learned about the word Hosanna. In the Bible, the people shouted Hosanna as Jesus entered Jerusalem. By saying this, they were saying “save us” and that they “choose him”. Although it seemed to them like he didn’t save them, he really did. This was because they thought he was the King of earth, but He was the King of Heaven. He would save them in Heaven not on earth.
I may be wrong as I wasn’t there with Kate and the Pastor, but I believe the point of this was to relate to Kate’s situation. She has been praying so long and asking for help from Jesus and to be saved by Him. She may not be able to be saved by Him to stay here on earth, but she will be saved by Him in heaven.
Again, I could be totally wrong by trying to translate the conversation that Kate and the Pastor had from the poor call quality, but I wanted to at least give it a shot.
Here is an audio clip of that call even though it is poor quality.
She added one more thing which I thought to be a little significant. She said that the pastor would be coming back in a week.
Actually, he would be. In exactly seven days, but not under the circumstances that we would have wanted him here for. More to come in seven days.
Are you ready for a little more of Kate’s wittiness? Later on I wanted to ask her where her BOOK was that she had been writing in. Either from voice texting and the phone entering it wrong or not typing it in right, the message came out, “Where is your boob?”
Instead of trying to correct me or ask me what I was talking about, she would answer me literally to give us both a laugh.
Later in the afternoon I got this message.
I remember this very well because I went upstairs to talk with her. We ended up deciding to go to our front living room to talk. We never used this room, but we did that evening. It turned out being a pretty simple conversation. She thought that I was getting overwhelmed and frustrated at times by the situation and that she was losing me to it. I told her that I was overwhelmed and feeling a little lost, but it would never ever come close to her losing me because of it. I didn’t mean to wear so much of it on my sleeve. I wasn’t even aware that I was. I would just have to learn to breathe a little more in between things.
That story above is how that room became one of two places that we designated for me to go to if I ever felt the need to talk to her after she was gone. I can’t remember where I wrote it before, but it’s when she told me, “I may not be able to talk back, but I will listen if I am allowed to.”
We ended up staying in that room for the evening to begin construction on Pierce’s Happy Dwarf Halloween costume.
Looks like Mama and Pierce finished up the night once again playing on the iPad together.
